Jordan, Class of 2013
Hometown: Bowie, MD
Major: Computer Engineering

What is your favorite thing about being a Phonathon caller?  Having conversations with alumni and hearing about how UMBC has changed over the years.

What brought you to UMBC? The size of the campus, the opportunities to get involved in on-campus research, and the Meyerhoff Scholars Program were all factors in my decision.

What is your favorite memory of UMBC so far? Attending the Quadmania 2010 concert featuring Wale with all my friends.

Is there a professor who really inspires you? Yes. Dr. Gymama Slaughter (computer engineering), because she is my current lab mentor, and she has already accomplished so much which still remaining a dedicated wife and mother to her husband and three children.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? The Fireside Lounge because it has a great view of campus and has a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.

What activities are you involved in? The National Society of Black Engineers and peer advising.

What are your future plans? I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in bioelectronics or bioengineering.
